We're engaged!

So just before Christmas break I proposed to my sweetheart, Laura. I
popped the question through a mini-comic with a hidden fold-in message.

A couple weeks before I accidentally blabbed that was getting her a
super secret surprise. I was about to tell her about a similar marriage proposal concieved by Australian illustrator, Guy Shield. But I stopped myself mid-sentence realized it would be a far better idea to show Laura, than tell her. >:)

Luckily she had no idea what her gift was going to
be. I kept telling her it was gonna be a pumpkin because she never
got to carve one for Halloween. (Thus the gag on the last page.) By the time i gave it to her she had sussed out the fact that card was involved, but she was still caught totally off-guard when she read the fold-in surprise.

Here are photos of the comic plus a PDF for clearer viewing:

Notice how the pictures form an engagement ring. Shoudl made the game store clerk yellow...

Laura modeling her the actual ring next to the card.

Here:s the PDF. Click the "full screen" button that pops up when you hover.

Handmade Stickers on Etsy

This sheet of hand-drawn stickers is the first Etsy item I've ever posted. I used Prismacolors on your standard inkjet sticker paper. All one-of-kind drawing that were totally experimental abstracts and weird characters I've never don before. So if you're looking for some really unique pictures to stick on your stuff, check it out!

Would It Be OK If I Licked Your Brain A Little?

Good things happen when I ink and scan my sketches.

X-Mas Spirit

So I doodled this guy the other day and thought he'd look swell on a T-shirt. It's still not too late to get in time for X-mas! Don't worry I'll remind you about the shirt earlier in the season next year.

Custom Trikky in Progress

So my good friend picked me up a Kidrobot vinyl figure the other day as an early holiday present. It's my first custom anything, so my fiancé, who has some experience in these matters, is helping me out. In fact she's done 99% of the physical painting so far.
Only Image of a blank TRIKKY I could find online. We used it to figure out what colors would go where and to work out the palette.

Originally it was gonna be a panda but then we decided turquoise would be an awesome color. So now it's some sort of fanged mammal in a one-piece. She'll probably be up for sale when she's done. Finally, something to go in my Etsy store.

Customized a MUNNY template floating around the ned so I could visualize the shapes better. The task was sort of redundant since we already started painting ti by the time i drew on the template. I still think It helps.

And here's the phsyical figure as it appears now with approximate locations of the body parts.

Of course I'll post more pix when we get further along. L8r!

Minotaur Drawing Video

Here's my first shot at doing a time-lapse video of myself drawing. Unfortunately, it's pretty shaky and half the tiem not pointed where i"m drawing. Next time I'll dig up my tripod to ensure a better viewing experience.
